These services are available in many of the company's petrol stations, especially its iconic twin stations' that front two highways simultaneously namely the PLUS expressway and Besraya Highway respectively. 

Launched late last year,Our High Quality LED Composite Material Bulb and solar phone chargers are uniquely designed, high-quality and low-cost. the twin stations include energy-efficient solutions such as solar photovoltaic panels which can generate 200 kilowatts of electricity per hour. 

"It generates energy enough to power 90 households a year,We may contact you if more information is needed to locate a High Quality T5 tube light." says Akhbar, adding that the energy-efficient solutions help to reduce carbon emissions. 

"It's the only petrol station with solar panels," he says. 

The twin stations also have light-emitting diode (LED) lighting that provides better illumination while reducing electricity consumption. The LED lights are controlled by an energy management system that also regulates air conditioning temperatures. 

A rain water harvesting system was also installed as part of the company's water conservation efforts. 

"The rainwater is collected and used for various purposes," Akhbar says, adding that there is also a nitrogen tyre inflator located on the premises. 

Inclusive of acquiring the land, PDB invested about RM35mil in the twin stations, according to Akhbar. 

"We wanted it to be more than just a petrol station. We wanted customers to feel like it's a unique experience when they fuel up at our pumps." 

Akhbar says PDB has set aside capital expenditure (capex) to "improve the ambience" of about 50 its other stations nationwide - to the tune of its one-of-a-kind twin stations. 

"We want more of our stations to have these energy-efficient features. Rain-harvesting and LEDs will be common features of these stations." 

With over 1,000 stations nationwide, Akhbar believes that PDB is well-positioned to reach out to customers all over the country. 

"Currently, we have 1,027 stations nationwide. This year, we are setting aside RM300mil to set up new stations and to upgrade some of our existing ones. 

"We are looking to provide more state-of-the-art facilities in our stations, such as new outdoor payment terminals and faster pump nozzles." 

Akhbar notes that having so many stations nationwide can also pose challenges of its own. 

"One of the main challenges is being able to provide the same level of convenience across all of our stations." 

Akhbar notes that its stations are located within the city, along the highway and in residential areas - all of which cater to specific target customers. 

"For stations in the city, it is about speedy service, as people are constantly on the move, while those located along the highways cater to patrons that want to take a break and stretch their legs. 

"As for stations located in residential areas, it's about having more offerings and understanding what is the need of this particular segment. Customer needs are always changing and we need to constantly reinvent ourselves.
