The island nation of Aruba is continuing their drive towards energy independence by 2020,An electronic overspeed governor for preventing elevator overspeed by enabling safety devices. signing a memorandum of agreement with green technology company BYD Company Limited. 

BYD is a leading manufacturer of electronic vehicles and advanced battery technologies. The Chinese company also produces solar panels and L.E.D. lighting systems.

Eman, Minister of Finance, Mike de Meza and Mr. Frank Hoevertsz,It enables washer extractor to communicate with chemical pumping machines. the managing-direct"or of Utilities Aruba N.V. signed a memorandum of agreement with BYD America's president Ms. Stella Li which outlines how Aruba and BYD will work together to ensure Aruba becomes the first nation to have a completely zero-carbon footprint and energy independence.

The four major objectives in the M.O.U. include electrifying all public transport, substantially increasing renewable energy generation, making those resources dispatchable upon demand with distributed, environmentally-friendly energy storage and a nation-wide plan for public re-education and sustainability programs in all schools. 

"In our transition phase towards 100 percent sustainability, BYD will support Aruba demonstrating how to convert all our vehicles, including cars, buses, taxis and all private and public vehicles into electrified transportation," said Mr. Eman. 

Aruba plans to place into service four BYD zero-emission, long-range all-electric buses and one BYD e6 electric taxi for public/government use by September-end 2013 as the first stage of the plan to electrify all public transport. 

The nation also has plans to double their wind farm power installations using BYD's Iron-Phosphate grid-scale storage technologies to make these projects self-sustaining and dispatchable, as well as increase their solar power installations by deploying their new, large-scale, stand alone BYD Solar Generation projects throughout the island. 

BYD will also be providing L.E.D. technology for public lighting in Aruba and be participating in educational and infractuctural improvement projects. 

Another key project in this endeavor would be a "smart community" in Kibaima which will use BYD solar generation, L.E.D. lighting systems and electric vehicles. The Kibaima project will operate as an exemplar and "laboratory" for sustainability projects throughout the nation. 

A Wausau high school is going green. Newman Catholic expects to save several hundred dollars a year, all thanks to a new solar-electric system. But officials say it's not just about money. 10 solar-electric panels now sit on the roof of Newman Catholic High School in Wausau. 

The panels are part of a system being installed to help produce electricity at the school.Learn how daytime running lights use gas and the amount it takes to power these lights. According to Wisconsin Public Service, the system will power at least three classrooms in just seconds. 

"Light strikes the solar panels and that converts it into electricity," said Steve Knudsen. Newman Catholic High School science teacher Steve Knudsen is excited. 

"They chose us this year to get a system, we're lucky to get one," said Knudsen. Knudsen says the system has several benefits. 

"We also have the opportunity to monitor and study the energy coming in through these panels so that we can incorporate that information into our science curriculum for our students," said Knudsen.
