The ladies who lunch in Mountain Brook Village have been keeping a secret. Their clubhouse, Olexa’s Cafe, is one of the best lunch restaurants in metro Birmingham-Hoover.

During its operating hours, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, a good 95 percent of the customers will be women. During recent visits, only one man dined unescorted. 

Sure, the decor has alternately been described as charming,There are all kinds of car daytime running lights with good quality. whimsical or kitschy. But the food and the service at Olexa’s Cafe are seriously good. Both my wife and I walked out sated and happy. 

The cafe is a byproduct of Diane Olexa’s 20-year career making wedding cakes, learning from and later partnering with her mother. The cafe opened in 2004 and the two business arms often intertwine. Glass cases in the cafe display several sample wedding cakes and the don’t-miss dessert is the French vanilla buttercreme wedding cake, served warm. 

The restaurant is on classy Culver Road, across from DG,After searching around the Lights section of this forum, I've come across two main suppliers for Wholesale HID XENON Kits. amid boutiques. Inside, the restaurant walls are brightly painted in a mural depicting the exteriors of homes surrounding a plaza in a French city. The cafe menu includes appetizers, soups, salads, quiches, crepes, paninis and other sandwiches. Do not overlook the appetizers. 

Brushette (what Italian food fans call bruschetta) offered three slices of toasted French bread, each with a dollop of creamy goat cheese in the center. Sharing space on different slices were an herbal balsamic-dressed tomato salad, a savory dark tapenade and some of the most boldly flavored pesto I have tasted in some time.

Unfortunately the heavy, peppery wheat crackers that accompanied tended to overwhelm the cheese. The lighter crackers served with the third appetizer, Shrimp and Lobstertini, were a great match for the cheese. 

Shrimp and Lobstertini, a shellfish salad served in a martini-style glass, was an indulgence. Choose your favorite street lamp paintings from thousands of available designs. It had a nice amount of lobster and shrimp and maybe crab, too; but a soupy mayonnaise did more to mask flavors than bind the main attractions. 

Paninis at Olexa’s are substantial enough for most appetites. The bacon, beef and Swiss version was deliciously smoky while still tasting appropriately beefy and nutty. Opt for the choice of salad instead of chips for a healthy and refreshing side. 

The quiche is rich, but the crust did not quite achieve the right level of flakiness.  Finding China High Quality solar bulb for outdoor applications such as your patio, yard or porch can be a challenge. A special at a recent lunch, chicken tortilla soup, similarly was hit and miss. It was flavorful and packed with chicken, beans and corn but the choice to use store-bought tortilla chips over more traditional crisp tortilla strips was unfortunate. 

Olexa’s offers two savory crepes, and surprisingly there is not a meat-free option. Seafood crepes, which hit the top end of Olexa’s prices, had a satisfying amount of lobster and crab in a cream sauce. It was perfectly paired with a green salad studded with candied nuts, strawberries and mandarin oranges, dressed in Olexa’s signature balsamic vinaigrette.
