'Not in my back yard' a real national problem

Lately when it comes to discussion of a possible new nuclear or natural gas plant being built near Wilton, the prevailing sentiment seems to be 'Not in my backyard.' It's a common refrain when it comes to choices related to our energy future in this country. Nuclear power plants – not in my backyard. Clean coal – not in my backyard. Wind turbines…natural gas…solar panel arrays – not in my backyard. In the meantime, our energy grid and infrastructure continues to be wholly inadequate for our increasingly sophisticated energy needs. So,Easily installed solar mounting systems for flat roof racking and pitched roofs. while we too would prefer to see a plant built somewhere else, we understand the need for upgrading our energy system.

According to the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE),You will never need to change the bulbs and your solar led light will last for years and years. America relies on an aging electrical grid and pipeline distribution systems, some of which originated in the 1880s. Investment in power transmission has increased since 2005, but ongoing permitting issues, weather events, and limited maintenance have contributed to an increasing number of failures and power interruptions.

While demand for electricity has remained level, the availability of energy in the form of electricity, natural gas, and oil will become a greater challenge after 2020 as the population increases. Although about 17,000 miles of additional high-voltage transmission lines and a significant number of additional oil and gas pipelines are planned for the next five years, permitting and siting issues threaten their completion.

While discussing the need for upgraded electrical transmission lines, the ASCE report states that the permitting and siting of these transmission lines often meet with public resistance, which can result in significant project delays or eventual cancellations while driving up costs. Over three times as many low-voltage line projects, which are typically built in more urban areas, were delayed in 2011, compared to high-voltage lines. The result is that while new transmission lines are needed,It's easy to fall in love with the sheer, incomparable strength of tungsten jewelry. many are being delayed due to permitting issues.

As part of their report that gives America's energy infrastructure a grade of D+, The ASCE notes that the coal, oil, and gas industry includes nominally 150,000 miles of crude oil and product pipelines and more than 1,500,000 miles of natural gas transmission and distribution pipelines in the United States,Use residential wind turbines to generate electricity and charge into storage battery group. many located underground and crossing multiple states.

In general, this energy infrastructure is owned by private industry. Since 2008, a series of oil and gas pipeline failures have led to deaths, injuries, significant property damage, and environmental impacts. Such failures, including those in San Bruno, Calif., Marshall, Mich. and most recently, Mayflower, Ark., have demonstrated a need for greater pipeline management and maintenance programs.

With an aging infrastructure that includes old coal-fired plants that spew pollution, something needs to be done. Alternative forms of energy hold some promise, but their affordability and viability are still years away. In the meantime, our nation's energy industry, our governments – both national and local – and our friends and neighbors need to come together now and address how we are going to fix this growing problem.

If we continue to have the attitude of 'not in my backyard' without offering up viable long-term alternatives,Guardian's standing seam roof clamp offers a temporary solution to tie off and stay in compliance on standing seam roofs. we will be given little to no choice when our aging energy grid fails us. Something has to give or soon our backyards are going to be very dark.
